In Regards To The World’s SALIGIA

Most of us are aware (at least, for the most part) of the troubles of the world. These include (in no order and obviously subject to opinion) the following: global warming; AIDS; Darfur; the War on Iraq; avian flu; poverty; racism; sexism; Tibet; nuclear weapons; sustainability; overpopulation; anti-Semitism; terrorism; animal rights; extinction; acid rain; ozone depletion; the Congo; drug abuse; prostitution; lack of sanitary water; the burning of the Amazon; suicide; depression; murder; smog; illiteracy; black biology; oil spills; tar sands; the financial crisis; homophobia; freedom; apathy; unemployment; hate; famine; housing; immigration and emigration; war; corruption; education; rape; abuse; trade barriers; etc.

As you can see, there is an immense amount of problems currently present on our planet. The problem is that none of these problems are really getting solved. I had an idea today that the real problem with solving this problems is as follows. I shall try to explain with an analogy. We have a flower bed containing nutrient-depleted soil with flowers scattered all around the garden. We also have one tablespoon of fertilizer. The problem with solving the problem at hand is that we are taking that tablespoon of fertilizer and spreading it all around the garden in an attempt to accommodate all the flowers; as a result, few of the plants will see any benefits at all.
