The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Last Wednesday, Emilie L, Steven B, Richard L, Brandon N, Michelle N, and I decided to watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It is available for purchase from http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0019HABE8.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is an anime following the S.O.S. Brigade--a high school club composed of the unpredictable Haruhi, the cynical Kyon, the book worm Yuki Nagato, the beauty Mikuru Asahina, and the exchange student Itsuki Koizumi. It was founded by Haruhi in order to meet aliens, time travelers, and espers (psychics) and have fun with them because ordinary humans are boring.
The animation is pretty standard for an anime. It wasn't dull, but there wasn't anything really noticeable about it either. Same with the music. I can't recall any of the songs sticking in my head.
The characters are interesting. They're all pretty well developed, and their personas play important roles throughout the series. Likewise, the plot is interesting, and well thought out considering its length (the series is only 14 episodes). However, the plot is presented in a scattered manner, and the anime is constantly jumping back and forth in time; there are even a few instances where subplots spanning multiple episodes are sandwiching unrelated episodes.
Overall, I enjoyed The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It was a fun anime with an interesting plot line and characters. I recommend it to anime fans who like random things, amusing story lines, or aliens, time travelers, or espers.

o.O
I don’t think you’ve seen the worst of it yet. But then again, neither have I. o.O
Anyways, this anime wasn’t too bad for this… …besides the constant attacking of Mikuru…
