601 VS Canada Line Madness
So as many of you know, on Labour Day (September 7, 2009) the 601 (and related) bus route is going to be rerouted from Vancouver to Richmond. The purpose of the reroute is to impose the utilization of the Canada Line--the $2 billion dollar rapid transit line connecting Richmond and Vancouver. But of course, people are being typical and resisting the change coming in September. Thus, rumours about the Canada Line and the disappearing 601 bus route are starting to spread and a petition has been started to "Save The 601 Bus Route". And in response, here are some facts I dug up about the changes (note that I'll only be examining the route from Ladner Exchange to UBC since it's the route I take and also because it would be a waste of everybody's time for me to examine the infinite number of other possible routes).
