Exam Time :(

The term is (finally) over! Yes, I know it went by pretty quickly, but it also took a very long time at the same time.

But now that all of our assignments are already done with (well, for the most part. I have a physics lab report to hand in on Monday), it's become crunch time for exams. [Crunch time--that's an interesting term. It's not something I would use myself, but other people seem to use it a lot...]

AYCE Sushi

To start, I would like to point out that my cat has decided that he likes to sit next to my computer as I'm typing:

Basil by Monitor

Anywho, a bunch of us went out for all you can eat sushi today at Richmond Sushi.

Bon

So today was actually quite bon. I'll finish blogging about the Terry Talks later. I'm just waiting on some information for now.

I also have an announcement to make soon (observant people will have already figured this out :P)

Anywho, I'm off for now...

Terry Talks

I'm currently at Terry Talks. No, I am not ignoring the speakers; we are currently on a "BREAK".

The day is going pretty well so far.

Here's the schedule (for your information and so that I don't forget):
9:30 - INTRODUCTIONS
9:40 - Allen Manser
10:00 - Idette de Boer
10:20 - TED: Doris K. Goodwin
10:45 - BREAK
11:15 - Duncan McNicholl
11:35 - Tiffany Tong
11:55 - Mike Gretes
12:20 - LUNCH
1:20 - TED: John Francis
1:40 - Andre Malan
2:00 - Fatou Wurie
2:25 - BREAK
3:00 - TED: John Hodgman
3:20 - Elysa Hogg
3:40 - Geoff Costeloe
4:10 - FEEDBACK, RAFFLE, AND CLOSING

Okay, well, in the process of typing of the schedule, they are playing around with the camera. That is one of the only two negative things about today I can think of: they seem to be video obsessed--I'd rather avoid being on YouTube. As for the other negative thing... ...I've only seen a few people here I know. It's really to be expected, but I thought there would be more people. I was sitting with Angela up until now, but besides Angela, I only really knew Anthea today (name-wise, at least).

*sigh* I should have really been keeping track on my laptop of what was happening as time moved along. I've lost some of the titles of the presentations.

Okay, the schedule is finished.

I'm hoping they do post the video of today on YouTube, though. The talks are really quite bon and the speakers seem very professional.

Let's see if I can remember all of the presentation topics so far (my memory sucks...)...

Allen Manser presented the idea of conscious learning and how we are entering a new age of conscious learning.

Idette de Boer presented her architecture project in which her group is designing a pharmacy for women on East Hastings.

Duncan McNicholl presented the idea of enhancing profits for third world countries via the concept of fair trade.

Tiffany Tong presented the idea of urban agriculture (city farming) as an additional, and beneficial, method to rural farming.

Mike Gretes presented the idea of producing medicine without profit for developing countries and the less fortunate.

Andre Malan projected his predictions for education in the future (in the next ten years) and its evolution with technology.

Fatou Wurie presented some of her poetry and experiences across the world, and her idea of visibility.

And people are coming back, thus I am off until later...

Blarg

Dang it. I think I'm becoming an optimist.

Just thought I'd blog since I haven't in a while. Though this is going to be uber short.

And I'm getting into politics (lol. now that it's over...)

And I need to make my New Year's Resolutions soon...

Blarg. I'm gonna sleep in. So I'm off.
