Veggie Veggie Veggie
I decided that I shall write this blog as a discussion (basically with myself) on my veggie beliefs... ...note that veggie beliefs would be referring to vegetarian beliefs...
Almost everybody reading this knows that currently I dislike eating meat products, so that premise will be where this blog will stem from.
To start, why do I dislike eating meat? First, I don't like the idea of eating a dead animal. No, that does not mean I like eating alive animals. Second, I don't like the idea of people killing animals for food. Third, I don't like the idea of animals suffering in their process of dying. Finally (for now), I find it unappealing to bite into a piece of meat. Since grade 5, I picture the animal whenever somebody mentions its name. Its not appealing at all.
I will now analyze these reasons.
I don't like the idea of eating a dead animal. Why not? Well, time for some logic. Some animals eat dead animals. All humans are animals. Therefore, some humans eat dead animals. I repeat, only some humans eat dead animals. Thus, this reasoning holds.
I don't like the idea of people killing animals for food. Waiting for animals to die naturally isn't exactly practical. Also, in nature, animals kill animals for food. Thus, this reasoning does not hold.
I don't like the idea of animals suffering in their process of dying. No, we do not live in a world where animals die instantly. Thus, they suffer prior to death. Additionally, some animals are actually put through long periods of suffering prior to death. Plus, we don't know for how long they can feel pain after we think they're dead. Thus, this reasoning does hold.
I find it unappealing to bite into a piece of meat. I don't really think I need to explain this. Its pretty much self-explanatory. Thus, this reasoning does hold.
Therefore, as of now, I am three steps towards and one step away from vegetarianism.
I think I was going to type a bit more, but my thoughts got lost sometime during the day. So that's all for now.
Life is a… …competition…
I've been wanting to rant about this for a while now. Actually, I may have already ranted about this topic. Nonetheless, this topic has been on my mind a lot recently thus I am going to rant about it.
Why does everything need to be a competition? It's good to have some competition to keep people motivated but does everybody have to win all the time?
Where must we draw the limit?
Is it okay to be competitive to a point where you not only try your hardest but you also try to take out your opponent at the same time? (...changing the mode on their calculator so that they screw up on a test...)
Is it okay to be competitive to a point where a game is no longer something to be played for fun but is instead played as something simply to win? (...such as a soccer game...)
What is with today's society and having to win at everything?
Seriously, if you are actually as smart as you think you are, you won't need to take out your opponent. If you work your hardest and they work their hardest, if you're actually that smart you'll come out on top. No, you don't need to see their marks to stay motivated. Just do your best and that's that. If you actually need to know their marks to stay motivated, maybe you shouldn't be coming out on top after all. Don't be so lazy. Sloth will help you not.
Also, it's just a game. People play it to have fun. Yes, winning plays a part of having fun, but would you not have fun if there was no scoreboard hanging about the arena? Must that scoreboard exist for you to enjoy yourself? The game isn't all about points at our level. It's about having fun. I'm hoping it's partially that way for the pros as well.
Nonetheless, this competition nonsense has really been getting on my nerves. Seriously people. You can't win at life. You just do what you do and you get what you get. There is no winning or losing. If there is, I guess we're all losers in the end. Newton, Einstein, Aristole, Nietzche, other scientists, philosophers, athletes, etc have already accomplished so much. The few people who do catch up and "win" in any one category still end up losing in the other nine hundred and ninety nine septillion categories.
So in the end (assuming life has winners and losers), we're all losers. Get over that fact. You do not have to beat other people or make them even bigger losers just to enjoy life. It's not going to get you anywhere either in life or after it.
Well, I guess it will get you something in life eventually.
A reputation and a fricking huge list of enemies.
Hell Week Is Over!
Heyhey,
So Hell Week is officially over. I'm slowly starting to piece everything back together.
I'm going to try to get things done ahead of time now. But haha. We know that ain't gonna happen. I guess I gotta work on it.
Anywho, I gotta go get stuff done. I'll set time aside to blog again soon.
Just a note to the old bloggers, let me know when you want me to transfer your blog over. Your old posts aren't transferable (I know, it sucks. They should be eventually but not now), but they will be archived.
I'll be back soon,
~Tysune
